Fairest Cape Beverage Company – Peter Koff, MW/CWM & OwnerFounded in 1995 by Peter, who is one of only two people in the world to hold both the titles of Master of Wine  (MW) and Cape Wine Master (CWM--a South African distinction). Fairest Cape is  based in Southern California and imports and distributes quality wine from all over the world including Argentina, California, France, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa and Spain. Our credo is BEST OF GENRE – GREAT PRICES!   Together with our sales force and a network of regional distribution partners, Fairest Cape supplies wine to restaurants and retailers in many states across the country. 

A native of South Africa, born in Johannesburg, Peter qualified as a Civil Engineer, completed his MBA and moved into the computer field as an engineer and then as a mainframe marketing representative with IBM.  Peter developed a taste for fine wine early on and has maintained a passion for fine wine, something South Africans took for granted.  As his interest in wine grew, so did his search for wine knowledge which led him to the Cape Wine Master examination in South Africa (at that time, he was one of only five).  During this time, wine was just an all-consuming interest of his. Peter moved to the U.S. in 1987 and, shortly after, the UK Master of Wine program opened up to the world, which gave him the opportunity to pursue his dream.  He left the computer world in 1992 and started his own company, Fairest Cape Beverage Company, and qualified as a Master of Wine in 1993. Peter is a regular judge at domestic and international wine competitions and also offers consulting services in the areas of contents selection and wine style.
