About Sogakope

Sogakope is the capital of South Tongu district, a district in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is home to the lower Volta Bridge. The town is mostly known for its river tourism.

What is Banku, Grilled Tilapia and Palaver Sauce?

Banku is a Ghanaian dish which is cooked by a proportionate mixture of fermented corn and cassava dough in hot water into a smooth, whitish consistent paste. It is mostly preferred by the people of the Southern Regions of Ghana; the Ewe tribe of the Volta Region

Grilled Talapia is an African delicacy. You will learn how to make it with the infamous green and red pepper spice. Tasty!

Palaver Sauce is a Ghanaian green leaf stew, cooked in one pot along with lush green leafy vegetables such as taro leaves, spinach or amaranth leaves (callaloo). The ground seeds of bitter melon are also added. These seeds are known as agushie in Ghana. All of these ingredients combine to give this stew a distinct flavor.
