This month’s pop-up shop features Sweet Simplici-Tea from Sykesville, offering a variety of brewed and loose teas – blended, black, decaffeinated, and herbal – along with tempting sweets and savories, all freshly made in their bakery.  Stop by to warm up with Sweet Simplici-Tea’s hot, aromatic offerings, and pair your choice with a perfectly made scone, or a freshly baked cookie.

Did you know? All tea derives from the Camellia sinensis plant, and likely originated in southwestern China as a medicinal drink during the Shang dynasty, 1500-1046 BC (facts from The plant grows in mountainous areas of China, Japan, and India, as well as other Southeast Asian and some African countries. Preparing the leaves in different ways, such as increasing the degree of oxidation, produces white, green, and black tea leaves, respectively. The leaves are also cooked in various ways and infused with flowers, herbs, fruits, and other materials.

Sweet Simiplici-Tea bakery and café opened for business in 2008, in Sykesville’s historic downtown. Meet owner Robyn Zumbrun whose Rosemary thumbprint cookies were voted top cookie by The Baltimore Sun!

Join us on Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10:00 – Noon to learn from, visit with, drink tea along side and shop at Sweet Simplici-Tea's pop up shop!

Stay immediately after to visit our resident artists in their studios during the open house, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
