MOROCCAN DANCE CLASS WITH ETHIOPIAN/ERITREAN FOOD

Moroccan Chaabi 101

This workshop will be sharing one of North Africa's popular traditional dances, Moroccan Chaabi, taught by Esraa Warda from Algeria. Chaabi means "of the people" and this dance is exactly that, a dance for the people. Naturally with the common characteristics of North African culture, Moroccan Chaabi is body positive (the bigger the better!), women centered, and communal. Chaabi brings out the shimmy in you. You will learn hip isolation and vibration, as well as learn basic technique, rhythm, and improvisation . Get ready to join in a women's dance cypher - Moroccan style!
