'Tong and 'Tage: It's A South African Biltong and Pinotage Love Fest at the LINE DC!

We're celebrating Indulge in two of South Africa's favourite delicacies Biltong and Pinotage! Since we can't attend the South Africa Pinotage & Biltong Festival, being held in Stellenbosch over the April 14th weekend, we're bringing the love fest between the two to DC newest hip hotspot - The LINE DC  in Adams Morgan for our own 'Tong and 'Tage - It's A South African Biltong and Pinotage Love Fest!

South African Travel and Wine Lovers will meet for happy hour at the hotel's funky bar/restaurant, Brothers & Sisters. Housed inside a 110-year old historic church, the hotel LINE DC is the product of a community effort by local chefs, bartenders, artists, and designers, and includes 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a coffee shop. So hip, even the Obamas visited! Full Service Radio broadcasts live from the hotel lobby daily while celebrated chefs Spike Gjerde of Baltimore’s Woodberry Kitchen and Erik Bruner-Yang of DC’s Maketto embrace the region’s diversity with American and international culinary experiences. We'll also drop in for a quick tour and visit to the lobby radio station and maybe meet the executive producer and the day's featured guest.

The BilTONG...
is undoubtedly the king of charcuterie in SA and possibly the country’s favourite food overall… and for good reason!  The charcuterie tray will include a traditional and spicy biltong—a cured, spiced beef, all organic, and air-dried—paired with cheeses, fruits, chocolate, marinated vegetables, olives, spreads, and crackers for delectable small plate offerings. The dried meats will be prepared by VA-based, but South African bred, Ayoba-Yo (pronounced: Ah-Yohbah-Yoh - a term used to express amazement, excitement, and approval). After moving from the States from South Africa, this family dusted off the family recipes from South Africa and uses a traditional method to marinate and air-dry the beef, all made to order to ensure freshness. Experience biltong made the proper South African way! We want to show everyone outside of SA what all the fuss is about! 

The PinoTAGE...
Pinotage is an internationally successful and uniquely South African grape varietal. South African Pinotage makers produce a product of superior quality, making Pinotage the trump card of the South African wine industry. This uniquely South African grape merges Pinot Noir and Hermitage (Cinsaut) grapes. Brothers and Sisters will provide 1 glass of Pinotage as part of our package, and then you can purchase from the bar.


The LINE DC is located at 1770 EUCLID STREET NW ( in Adams Morgan.  

• 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Check-in/socialize, quick tour of The Line DC and Radio station. 
• 6:00pm - 8:00pm: Meet at Brothers & Sisters for Biltong and Pinotage Happy Hour

TICKET PRICES:   $25 pp (plus $2.03 Eventbrite fee) - our package includes a TOUR of this hip new spot, 1 GLASS PINOTAGE (full pour), and BILTONG charcuterie. Additional food, pinotage, other wine/spirits will be available at the bar for purchase. 


METRO - The Woodley Rd/National Zoo (Red Line) stop is the closet Metro station stop.

What's the refund policy?

Payments are refunded if the host group or venue cancels the event or changes the event date.
