Join expert museum staff for a special tour of foodways exhibits at the National Museum of African American History and Culture that showcases the rich culture and history of the African American people.  The hour long VIP foodways tour will take place before the museum opens to the public.

We will meet for a Dutch-treat meal in the museum's Sweet Home Cafe after the tour.  The cafe features traditional, authentic African American offerings as well as present-day food traditions.  Executive Chef Jerome Grant designed the menu to include classic dishes using locally sourced ingredients.  Four distinct lunch stations each tell the story of the regional food offerings.

Participants will be able to explore this remarkable museum on their own and earn about the complex and diverse African American story through its 15 interactive galleries and nearly 40,000 historical and cultural objects on display.
