Just in case you missed out on this year’s Braai, we wanted to provide our best Zachys client with a second opportunity to sample some our favorite South African wines of 2018. These wines are made for grilling and enjoying the sunshine, and there is no doubt that South African wines have been experiencing a recent renaissance. This is an exciting time for South African winemaking, with the next generation taking over at many historic estates, new rising stars, and Old World winemakers heading south to discover the diverse terroirs and micro climates. Jack Suckling of JamesSuckling.com wrote, “it’s more than evident South Africa is rediscovering its identity as a serious producer of quality wines.” We could not agree more!
If you are looking for something truly unique and amazing, we will be sampling the 2013 Bayten Maximus. With minimal production and receiving a glowing 92-point review from Wine Spectator, this oak aged Sauvignon Blanc is now available for only $14.99/btl (regularly priced at $29.99). This is a very fun wine that we highly recommend!
