James Beard award winning Cookbook author Adrian Miller will discuss his two hit books, Soul Food: the surprising story of an American Cuisine, One plate at a time. Winner of the 2014 James Beard award for reference and scholarship, and The President's Kitchen Cabinet, the story of the African Americans who have fed the Washingtons to The Obamas. Adrian is currently working on a third book, titled Black Smoke, and looking for BBQ research assistants! He will be dropping knowledge like hot biscuits.. Yes, that phrase is trademarked! 


Adrian will also sell pre-signed books. Join us for a delicious evening of food heritage and culture.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?


21+ to drink alcohol at the bar, ID required.  


What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?


downtown lightrail at theatre district or 16th st, bus lines nearby (#10, #15) on 15th, street meter public parking and paid lots, please make arrangements other than driving if you plan to consume alcohol.
