Happy World Jollof Rice Day! Chosan is an independent producer of a range of 100% natural, organic drinks bursting with the flavours of hibiscus and superfruit, baobab. Here at Chosan, we are big fans of West Africa’s most famous dish. Our own name ‘Chosan’ means cultural heritage in Wolof, the language that the very name jollof rice is derived from. There is much debate about the origins of jollof rice and as the name comes from the Senegambia region we heartily stake our claim!

Jollof is West Africa's culinary gift to the world with a flavour all its own. It represents what paella is to Spain, Risotto is to Italy and Biriyani is to India. Packed with flavour it serves as an elegant centrepiece and a real feast for the eyes at birthday parties, christenings, weddings... at all celebrations!

World Jollof Rice Day is all about marketing West Africa. Let's cook, eat and share jollof all day is a foodies marketing slogan. Just as the words give us this day our daily bread is about marketing for the ancient bakers. Marketing is about designing and communicating a message about your services or products which has a need or a want. This has become easier in the digital age.

Pay-Me Oliver makes the best jollof rice in the world and you did nothing to stop him. This is no joke. Do a search on jollof rice and see who comes top. The fat-tongued school cook Oliver has built an empire with his celebrity status, he earns a small fortune by regurgitating recipe books. He comes out top of the list of results. So #jollofgate is it a conspiracy?
