Pay-Me Oliver makes the best jollof rice in the world and you did nothing to stop him. This is no joke. Do a search on jollof rice and see who comes top. The fat-tongued school cook Oliver has built an empire with his celebrity status, he earns a small fortune by regurgitating recipe books. He comes out top of the list of results. So #jollofgate is it a conspiracy?

So I have a somewhat shocking secret to share – I am not a foodie *insert covered face emoji*

“But wait are you not Tokunbo of Tokunbo’s Kitchen?”

Yes indeed I am. You see, what I am trying to say is that I am not a foodie in the sense that I am quite fussy about what I eat. However I enjoy cooking and I especially love creating meals for others and seeing the satisfaction on their faces. It’s a feeling second to none.

West Africa Cooks Supports Nubian Nights Out

Here is a message from the owners of Nubian Nights Out who put on a photographic art exhibition in July 2015.

Still on a high, how brilliantly our first exhibition went. We can't thank you all enough for the love, support and encouragement. We wanted to say a few words about why we felt the need to put on an exhibition such as this. We feel we needed to say a little bit more than just thank you and hope you enjoyed the all the images and the free food and the drink, now bye.... Lol.

Let's get one thing straight - when we think of our heritage, history, tribe or language and link it to our childhood, one of the first things that people talk about is food. Where did we smell this food? I guarantee you it was from the top or bottom of the stairs, at the front door or on the (skirt, trousers or wrapper) of the person that was cooking notably your mother or grandmother. Am I right? The smell that indicated lunch or dinner time, tearing you away from play, homework or tv.
