Foods and Dishes for Wake-Keeping

Above Plantain As A Finger Food At A Wake

Funerals in West Africa have become a party celebration, the family is expected to serve refreshment to the sympathizers after the funeral service as a way of appreciating these people for being with them in their moment of grief. It is very common to see people eating and drinking at these funerals you would think they were having parties. Some would even pack some food and drinks in plastic bags and take them home for their children or relatives.
