We are finally opening up the membership of the Afrikan Food Hall project to the public on Saturday 6th December 2014. 1pm Start.
Why Is The Afrikan Food Hall Needed?
African and African-Caribbean people suffer disproportionately from many diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, bowel cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, Lupus, and many other lifestyle diseases.
A better diet and exercise can go a long way to help prevent get these diseases. The Afrikan Food Hall will be providing high quality groceries and cooked food at very low prices to members.
Economic Impact
AFH will also provide valuable shelf space for small-scale food producers within our community to sell their products.
AFH will also directly compete with other food stores and markets within our community that currently sell poor quality food at relatively high prices. AFH aim is to attract their African and African-Caribbean customers.
The first two stores are being planned for Brixton and Peckham with a further 7 stores in London penned in once the model is established.
Open Membership
On the day people can become a member of the Afrikan Food Hall for only £1 and children under 18 can also become associate members for just £1 (But there don’t have voting rights until they turn 18)

Planning Meeting
There will also be a planning meeting where people can learn how the supermarkets will trade and when they will trade. People will also have the opportunity to ask questions and network with likeminded people.
There will be free refreshment available

We only have a small number of seats available for the planning meeting so there is a two stage process to secure your ticket.

- We will then phone you nearer the time to confirm your seat
- We have to do this to avoid any wasted seats
