The Africa Centre Summer Festival 2015

The annual Africa Centre Summer Festival celebrates the continent's rich cultural heritage through musical performances, visual arts, film, fashion and food. This year's Festival "August in Africa" will once again take place in London's iconic Covent Garden on 1st August 2015.

The Africa Centre’s flagship annual summer festival, ‘August in Africa’, will be held in Covent Garden’s iconic Piazza on Saturday, August 1st from 12pm-10pm and will explore the theme of portraiture through contemporary photography.

Everyone with an interest in Africa will have an opportunity to celebrate and experience first-hand the best of African culture, including exhibitions, workshops for children and adults, pop-up fashion and dance shows, entertainment, live music, delicious African food and much, much more. And it's FREE!

Ghana Party In The Park London 2015

(A Family Fun Day) is an annual event for the Ghanaian Community in the UK, started since 2005 attracting visitors from around UK, Ghana, Holland, Germany, France, Canada and US.

Ghanaian and African music, spectacular costumes, Durbar of Chiefs, Kids actives, and of course the traditional freshly cooked African food, Arts and Crafts stalls lining the park this is probably Ghanaian’s most exciting annual event out side of Ghana.

A family fun day with attractions from music, food, cultural dancers, live performance, comedy, bouncy castle, face painting, fashion show, picnic, art and craft, football, spar, acrobatics, networking, dance competition, kids rides games centre, dj’s and mc’s.

The Food Court

There’s nothing quite like the smell of chi – chin ga. Okay kebabs. For a day you can almost forget you are in London, for you will not spot fish and chips anywhere. Kenkey and fish. Waakye, Jollof, tilapia, banku and okro, gari foto, kelewele, bow float, kattie cake, condensed milk toffee and all the things the streets of Ghana takes for granted. Pounded fufu with a choice of amponchi kraka, abenqui. Traditional ampesi flavoured with kobi, and for those of you that remember the traditional Circle yam and choofi from a night out and have now substituted it for donor kebab.
